Without a doubt this dive site is Keppel's number one asset. It is situated near the extreme south-eastern point of Great Keppel Island. The bombora drops almost from the surface down to 17 metres, its main structure is rock and boulders sparsely covered with coral, abruptly finishing at a sandy sea bottom, strewn with smaller rocks and it's here that the garden begins, a sight seldom seen elsewhere.
When visiting the Keppels, make sure you dive this location, I'll bet you will come away with a lasting memory of one of the best tropical underwater sea gardens you are ever likely to see.
![]() | Water visibility at Parkers Bommie does vary somewhat, but most times is around 20 metres. Bottom growth consists of many thousands of graceful sea fans displaying rich vibrant colours of orange, yellow, mauve and pink, others are crimson, purple, snow white and gold all swaying with gentle surge of ocean current.
![]() | On a single dive one may encounter schools of huge turrum, many beautiful angel fish trailing gossamer wings above and below their bodies, olive sea snakes, sleeper sharks, red and white Spanish dancers.
Gorgonia fans and whips are the master builders of the Parker Bommie but dominant residents are fish and other mobile sea life, by far the most striking thing about these creatures is the splendid variety of their shape, colour and markings.
