Anchor Bommie (Beach Entry)

At a depth of 20 metres the Anchor Bommies are well illuminated by clear water and a reflecting sandy sea bed. There are two giant anchors lying nearby, hence the name.
As the area is populated with cleaner fish, which often attract manta rays. If you are sighting manta rays, proceed with care, try not to disturb them, you may be able to capture some dramatic photos.

Canyons (Beach or Boat Dive)

The Canyons are some distance off the island, but once there spectacular diving will follow. Over the reef's edge are a maze of canyons, arches, swim throughs, drop offs and caves. Numerous schooling sharks, turtles, large bat fish and millions of reef tropicals. The area can be best described as swimming through a miniature Grand Canyon, all the features are there, towering walls, plateau reef tops, valleys and dead ends.

A unique idea in scuba diving, the picket trail winds, bends and twists its way through, coral heads, ravines canyons and bommies across sandy flats, past giant anchors of long forgotten shipwrecks. You will see manta rays glide past, maybe one or two reef sharks cruise in for a closer look, barracuda are always there, still, motionless, waiting. Huge potato cod play hide and seek around bommies and fish by the hundreds, lots of times, follow divers throughout their entire descent.

The Picket trail starts at Lighthouse Bommie and Coral Gardens.
